Research collected by Frances Manwaring Caulkins regarding Native Americans and the lands they occupied in North America. Five bound volumes contain historical inquiries and memoranda, lists of tribes and vocabulary from their languages, names, and other notes. Three unbound volumes include information about King Philip's War and other encounters between the natives and the Europeans, more names and definitions, and short stories about the natives. The collection also contains a folder of loose notes.
